good or bad t3?from chrystler
does this turbo have a wastegate on it already?{i think it does just double checking}. would this make a good turbo at 7 psi? http://www.obsidiansales.com/july29/DSC09892.JPG http://www.obsidiansales.com/july29/DSC09891.JPG

Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
It does have a wastegate actuator though... but that's pretty much it.
|
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
does it look like it will work good it sais it has no shaft play and turbo spins freely
|
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
those turbos are fine. what's the price though? and does it come with the compressor inlet or the exhaust housing/wastegate flapper?
|
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
idk wat a wastegate flapper is . $40 for it so far. http://www.obsidiansales.com/july29/DSC09895.JPG http://www.obsidiansales.com/july29/DSC09890.JPG i dont want to rebuild a turbo because i dont kno how and i will probly ---- it up . and i only have like $500 to spend on my whole setup ..

Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
Chrysler T3's are fine. The only gay thing is the Chrysler exhaust T3 flange. It will not bolt to your standard T3 manifold. If your making your own mani, then I guess its no big deal. Later on down the road when you get bored w/ it and decide to try out a larger turbo, your gonna be pissed that you have to modify your manifold. :P

Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
there is enough room on the turbine inlet to drill it out for a reg T3
|
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
Good idea.
Have a blast drilling a cast housing. Just use someone elses bits/drill press, :) |
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
a drill press and about a half an hour will get the job done. just go slow and use a nice carbide bit
|
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler

Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
BAWAHAHAH!!!
LOL. Anyway, looks like it's missing part on the hot side for the flapper. If it's internally gated. My Volvo turbo has the 5 bolt which sports a seperate piece containing the interal WG flapper. I don't know if CHRYSLER's have those or not. Just looking out for the guy, ya know? JP |

30 minutes to drill out all the broken bolts from a junk chrysler turbo is optimistic. just as optimistic as finding a chysler turbine that is not cracked all the way through the wastegate hole!! >:D the outlet isnt the standard 5 bolt. i tried both garrett and turbonetics flanges on mine and it was off. |
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
I'm taking the two junk Chrysler T3's I have, along with a rebuild kit, and making one good one. I tore apart one of them today at work. DEFINATELY use a torch to heat up the cast turbine section before even trying to remove the bolts. Both of mine have broken bolts I have to deal with, but heat is good. I got the turbine housing off the centersection without any problem with my good buddy, the oxy/aceteleyne torch. The broken bolts for the 02/wastegate housing, however, are gonna be a -----.

Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
i just used the centerf section and the inlet and bought a t bird out ex scoll and it bolts to ether

That's what I'm talkn about!!! LOL. Thanks. JP |
Re: good or bad t3?from chrystler
I have a few of these chrysler turbos in stock, I just checked and you guys are right.
Both the INLET and the OUTLET are ODD on this damn chrysler turbine. The outlet flange is kind of narrower. Standrd 5 bolts swingvalve housings don't fit, which makes this turbo a bitch to work with. Here's a picture just for the sake of documenting our ----. CHRYSLER TURBINE.......................vs.................. .....STANDARD TURBINE |
