gone turbo
Almost got all of my parts to boost my y7. My question is do I have to chip my ecu for my dsm injector and resistor box or can I just use my stock ecu and get a AFC for control thanks and by the way love the site!!!

Re: gone turbo
you can, but the afc cost more than chipping, so.......................
|
Re: gone turbo
Got a geat deal on the afc from my friend. So I dont have to chip my ecu?
|
Re: gone turbo
you dont have to, but you should.
sell the afc for more than you paid, and its all good |
Re: gone turbo
Is it better to convert to obd1 (p28) and have that chip and tune, get rid off the AFC
|
Re: gone turbo
that depends... are you obd0, or obd2? if youre obd2, then you would have to convert to obd1 anyways. but obd0, you could chip most ecus.

Re: gone turbo
My cars obd2. Can i just use my ecu or should i go obd1 what ecu's best for convertion (d16y7)

Re: gone turbo
oh, that kinda sux.
as far as conversions go, i've never done one. i believe xenocron has a harness kit. and grom what i know the p29 &p30 are like the "universal donors". i'm sure others will work too, but i don't know exactly wich ones. |
Re: gone turbo
p29??? good luck finding one of those. thats the obd1 (92-95) dohc zc (jdm). i have one in my car, but theyre not that easy to find. maybe a p28??? i have one of those for sale too. :)

Re: gone turbo
Get a P06 (obd1 nonvtec), injectors, a chip, and a adapter harness. If you know anyone who has a wideband O2 you can use the AFC to dial in the AFR's. Otherwise get a cheap street tune on Crome and use the AFC to pay for the tune.

Re: gone turbo
p28 is what i meant.

Re: gone turbo
