my buddies '92 Tercel that i built a turbo kit for last spring, using s TD04HL-15G turbo, Godspeed intercooler, Tial 38mm Wastegate, 3Bar Racing hybrid boost controller, SARD R2D2 bov, 2.5" mandrel-bend exhaust with a high flow cat & a MK5 GTI resonator as the main muffler, 4 check valves to keep the MAP from seeing boost, celica 195cc injectors, APEX-i SFAC & just guessing & hoping resulted in 130HP/144TQ

i don't have a scan of the dyno sheet, but that was with with the A/F around 12.2-12.5s & 9psi of boost...that far exceeded our expectations, the car hauls good, but we were guessing 100whp, dreaming 115whp, my ------- jaw dropped when i saw the numbers, i was speechless, my first ever turbo kit, works, pretty ------- good

next is to remove the sinktrap, make a custom manifold, T3 50-trim, more boost, Haltech standalone & hopefully near 200whp

& i may finally turbo mine now since i know i can make something that works pretty good

no its straight pipe. the bends are an illusion.

this is the only "recent" pic i can find of it...this was before it was turbo'd...the foglights were replaced by intercooler, but everything else is basically the same

Wow, my stock-head, 8:1cr D16Z6 made 160whp/140wtq with a dinky 50trim T3 turbo at 6psi - with stock cat, muffler and some really old fouled plugs at the stock .044" gap. Figuring what he must have had before, the NA guys must be better off with a Kohler lawntractor motor. :S

Looks solid for a HMT setup though, so grats on that. Its always great to see people re-using their stock cast manifolds. :y

the 3ee heads are pretty ------- small along with a smaller intake manifold, but hey it works pretty dang good :y :y

The 3E (stock Tercel engine) is pretty lame. They're brutally slow, and even for being a tiny ---- box, totally underpowered. That Kohler coment is about right.

You should see the size of the ports on the head. TINY. You can pretty much block the exhaust ports with your thumb.

It looks like pretty good numbers to me though, considering the stock HP of that engine.

Makes me wonder what mine was making at 15psi.

yeah, these things start out life at a whooping 82 fly HP...so we have almost double'd it

Traction gunna be a issuse, is there a LSD box avalible for the POS? ;D

yeah, theres an LSD for them, I dont remember who makes it. Or I think one can be had from some sort of JDM model that used the same type transmission

he already has a TRD LSD along with some weird hybrid gearbox that works out to have 3.73s

austin ran a best yesterday at 9lbs & with the timing down from 20* to 13* of 15.19@95mph...he busted his radiator before we got to kick the timing back up & also try colder plugs...right now we have only 1 step colder plugs in there
