Getting ready to fire it up!!!
 

Ok, I'm a noob so please help me. I have everything almost ready to go the only thing I need to know is. Before I run this do I need to do anything to the turbo before I fire it up, like put oil in it or will it fill fine from the oil line? I have a B16 with a turbonetics T3/T4, I'm not running a boost controller yet so the stock spring in my Delta waste gate should only alow me to boost 5 lbs right? Also there is a taped hole in the outlet for my turbo, what is it for? Should I just block it off with a bolt? Please help ASAP, thanks

a 02 sensor bung? block it if you dont need that bung

make sure you connect the oil lines before you bolt the turbo up, then crank/run it until oil drips from the return line (put something under it, and don't let a quart run out - duh). You want it to be nice and lubricated, before the thing ever spins. If you start it up dry - not good. You might be able to connect it and leave the wg off and hold the turbine so it doesn't spin, but I'd be safe instead of sorry.

or you can pull the fuse to your fuel pump and crank the engine over to get oil to the turbo.

I read that you unplug the spark plug wires crank it up 4 or 5 times holding the key ignition to on for 5 to 10 seconds each time. Then plug the wires back in start it up and let it idle for about 10 minutes. And then take it for a spin. Take it to third gear before you romp on it. Give about 75% gas and make sure its not acting funny.

Some poeple like to have a friend double check it for you just to make sure you did not overlook anything. Good luck. :D

Well, the oil lines work because the oil return was leaking but I fixed that after like an hour of screwing with the fittings. I don't know what's wrong though because it idle's fine until I start to drive it then the idle slowly climbs to about 3,500 rpms and hold there. I don't know if its the turbo doing this or my new holley Throttle body. I just put the Throttle body on so that may be my problem, anyone know what OMS the TPS sensor is set at? I know there are two different setting one for idle and one for Wide open throttle but I don't remember what they are. I also don't think my blow off valve is working for some reason, I didn't hear it blow off at all I was thinking maybe the vacuum line isn't big enough going to it. I ran the vacuum off the back of my Skunk2 intake manifold because it has an extra vacuum port on the back I wasn't using, anyone know anything about this? Thanks a lot guys

Sometimes it's best to do one addition at a time.

Try putting your original tb back on...Just to see if that fixes the idle problem. Or you may have a vacuum leak.

Most bov's are adjustable. If no vac. leak, try adjusting the bov.

Edit: Both of these problems could be related. Perhaps it's a vac. leak causing both symptoms.

Yeah, I'm going to put the stock TB back on today, I messed with the blow off last night a little and it still won't blow off not matter how far I adjust it in or out. So maybe it is a vacuum leak, I'll try that today too. thanks
