Gaskets??
Where do you guys get your gaskets? I want to make some out of copper but can't find any... Is there anything else that may work? I found some flat stock brass, has anyone ever tried it before? I'll keep looking for some copper but just wondering what everyone else uses?

Re:Gaskets??
it may sound ghetto, but I use old licsence plates, as long as they are not aluminum they will work fine.
hold up for pretty long as exhaust manifold gaskets/header gaskets. lol. |
Re:Gaskets??
Lol the only gasket in my turbo setup that I'm running is the manifold to head gasket. I didn't use any other gaskets and it runs fine with no exhaust leaks. I did use gaskets for my oil drain though.

Re:Gaskets??
I think I'm gonna try the brass, it's pretty expensive but I think it'll work. I just need to make a gasket for the turbo and the manifold on the adapter plate, down pipe, and for the wastegate. I'll try it and let you all know how it works.

Re:Gaskets??
High temp silicon (red), if it's good enough for the old school turbo F1 motors it's good enough for anything I got.

Re:Gaskets??
we used the high temp (red) rtv silicone for gaskets between sections of my friend's Impreza headers. That was the reccomended material.

Re:Gaskets??
I got the high temp black ----, it works good so far. But I also haven't ran my car yet since starting my install so we'll see in about a week or so. ;D

Re:Gaskets??
Im somewhat intereste here cuz the red rtv sealent says it holds up to 650 degrees F and doesnt exhaust gas get to around 1300+??
How is that stuff holding or is it that the metal doesnt reach that temperature... because I was going to use the red rtv sealent from liek a pepboyz or autozone but that 650 limit scared me off |
