gasket
what should I use for a gasket between my turbo and manifold
|
Re:gasket
Most say to use ~18 Gauge sheet metal. I have high temp gasket material, personally, so I'll see how it does. Seems like it'd be better for that. You don't want any leaks between your mani and turbo, and I think the stuff I have will seal better.

Re:gasket
the sheet metal works great.

Re:gasket
i think an aluminum can cut up would melt pretty damn quick.
IS this a manifold to turbo or manifold to adapter plate to turbo. if it's manifold to turbo use the turbo's stock gasket from the dealer. if its the other one use the manifold (HF or somthing im guessing) gasket from dealer then the turbo's dealer gasket on the other side. |
Re:gasket
I used some high temp gasket silicone. Its rated up to 1100F. I used it from the manifold to adapter and adapter to turbo. I was running 10 psi with no problems. But just fyi i only had the car boosted for about a week or two before i spun all the rods. :-[

the turbo is an ihi rhb6 and the gasket is between my adaptor plate and turbo. I have a copper one that worked good for my rhb5 and I have never seen the flange on the rhb6 before( doesn't mean ----). if some one could tell me how to load pics up I could show you guys the flange.
