Garrett t3 turbo off of Sabb question...

Hey guys, i just got a garrett t3 turbo from a friend of mine, and i just have a few questions about the trubo it's slef.
1. While the turbo was on the Sabb it had an internal wastegate, when the internal WG was taken off there is a arm that hooked on the WG that moved back and forth to open and close it, and attached to arm inside the housing is a little "flapper" inside the ehxaust housing that opens up to let the unwanted exhaust into the WG. So what should I do about the "flapper" that opens inside the housing? It does not look like the flapper can or would come off. Im not sure what I should do about it.

2. Im not sure but I think that this turbo is set up to be water cooled as well as oil cooled, not sure tho, I was asking because there are 2 holes on the opposite side of eachother right beside the oil inlet/outlet not sure about this... any help would be appreciated
thanks everyone

take off the hole flapper assembly if your going external (i will buy it BTW, PM me) you dont need it...then there are no worries...

if your not going to water cool the turbo there are no worries just leave them open. if you really want to water cool it, im pretty sure directon doesnt matter...

but if i take this off, then i'd have to get a 5 bolt flange for my new down pipe right?

You don't need to worry about the watercooling. Just run oil through it, and leave the water ports unplugged, the turbo will be fine.

this doesnt really pertain to me or my setup but when you leave the water plugs open, wont ---- get in there and clog it/ ---- it up?? cant you just put some bolts there to cap em off? just wondering....

I just picked up a ss manifold and need something to work with it so I'm thinking of picking up a saab t3(i think thats the flange on those things, or should I say hope!) I'll need to do the same thing with the wastegate or just cover up the flange on the manifold till I can afford a aftermarket wastegate.
