Garrett T3 A/R .42 - .48, enough for 300whp h22a1?

hey guys i have a Garrett T3 Turbo Turbocharger A/R .42 - .48, and im planning on using it on my h22a1, my goal is only 8psi, around 300whp, im pretty sure that this turbo can provide that, but im wondering if its gonna be efficent or should i go with a t3/t4....and also how good the spool is gonna be. Thanks a lot :6

Why are you "pretty sure"?

That turbo is WAY too small for that engine, and it won't make 300 WHP.

Get a T3/T4 and be done.

Way to small, it takes 12-13psi on a D-series with that turbo to make around 200whp, so definatly not worth using it. I'd definatly go with a hybrid T3/T4, theres lots of different choices some definatly depend on how fat your wallet is ;)

man .42 /.48 seems awfully small for an h22. id at least rock a t3/t4. with that much displacement youre gonna run out of steam on the toppend.

It only took a friend 8psi to get to 195whp with that turbo, but I agree that it is definitely way too small for the h22. Hell, it's even considered small for a d-series.

Hey thanks for the info guys! ;D Wat trim should i go with for my goals of 300-330whp? with the t3/t4.

Also would this t3 that i have be enough for the f22a1 motor (my old motor) for 200whp or so. Thanks!

what is the RPM limit on an h22?

I have a 2.4 liter with a.42/.48 t3... its too small for big power, but doesnt die on the top end, but then again my redline is 5700.

jeff i made 206 whp and 186 wtq at 9 psi on a 42/48. on a 98 degree 95% humidity day. on a cool night the car made almost 11 psi, felt like a ------- train pulling me. HAD TO have been making 230 whp on a cool night, cause it would hold 11 psi.

i miss that thing :'(

With those small turbo's you need to much boost to make 300 whp..those are rated at 300-350 engine hp at there max not at 8 psi

Id go with something like a 57-60 trim t3/04e with like 63 exhaust hosing and 50 or bigger compressor housing. 48 ar is to small for the dohc 2.2

I have a t3/04e 57 trim stage three wheel 48/50 ar. f22b1 full boost by 3500, max hp at right around 6000 260 WHP/270 TQ at 10 PSI on a conservative tune. Great power everywhere.... Dont go to big, a broad powerband and smooth but violent torque curve are lots of fun!!!,

being that the hs22 has a higher operationl rpm range, id go with the bigger ex housing (63) mine pulls hard as hell till like 6200. But you need that extra 1000 rpms.... JMHO

O0 :y

.63 compressor with a turbine ranging anywhere from .70-.90 1.xx is getting to big and wont really spool till upper rpms, unless thats what you want. also, doing some headwork will help spool those big turbines.

I run a t3. 42.48 on my 1.3 starlet not sure of the specs yet as only just bought it been told it goes pretty hard
