welp. Just went through everythign with water and soap, seem to be a pretty small leak between the turbo and the mani. I ust noticed one nut missing on the flange from the mani to the head, so mayeb a small leak there. But i forgot i do have a pretty mean leak betwween the intake mani and the head. Gasket must have went shitty soemhow.. but yea, hopefully these explain the slow spool action. And i just noticed the downpipe is crush bent, and on the first turb down it get kinda small...

 

tightened up the bolts/nuts tht connect the mani to the turbo. still full 7psi at 5000-5500 in 2nd gear from a rolls starting st 3500 rpms... WTF

 

do you have a stock exhaust with a cat?

 

no cat. and a little bigger piping than stock.

 

make sure your actuator is closed. my old setup had slow boost but i could here the gate open since i had an open dump on the 16g so i put a washer in between the wastegate actuator and compressor side of the turbo. it raised the boost a little but i didnt mind

 

o yea it is externally gated. So no actuator

 

my guess is an exhaust leak...

 

you should be able to find out if it leaks by taking the dump tube off and feeling for exhaust leakin out the waste gate. what kind of manifold and wastegate? did you use new gaskets? and boost leak test?

 

If you have a large vaccum leak at the intake,fix that first.
