Default fuel pump question

I'm buying a 1990 Civic Dx Hatch. DPFI, D15, 4 speed stick. Its a piece.
The fuel pump wouldnt turn on, so i replaced the main relay. Now the pump is turning on, but the car wont start unless i prime the fuel pump 6-7 times. And when it does start, is idles super rough, then dies. I'm thinking that the pump is going out. I'm thinking about buying a new fuel pump, the options are-

OEM Honda pump
Walboro 195
Walboro 255
Walboro 255HP

I'm thinking about swapping a boosted LS into it after this motor gives somewhere down the line. Would it be worth it to just run a 255 with the stock motor, just in case i do boost it? Would the high pressure version be worth the extra $10? Would it be safe to run on a stock motor?
Thanks.

the 255 should work with adjustible regulator with the stock motor. and it would be better in the long run if you plan to boost it

Yeah, just get the 255 if you plan to boost later.

check for gas in the vac line to the FPR. a failed FPR would also cause a no-start even with the fuel pump running, since it wouldn't be able to build fuel pressure.

how often have you ever seen these fpr's fail. i have never seen it on a honda in all the years i have been working on hondas. i would bet on a weak fuel pump, or a hole in one of the fuel lines somewhere or also a shitty fuel filter. i have had a shitty fuel filter on one of my crx's keep it from running
