Free motor ... what should i do to it....

its a f22a4... it ran when pulled just smoked a lil... comes with some nice new rings...so my question is what would u do.... slap it back together... dsm manifold 14b, injectors.. and boost like 8lbs... i think i found a 90 2dr 5speed donor car... this is just going to be a toy... the car will be gutted and alll... im new to f/h series too but i have a hatch sitting out here and if i bought a h series swap wouldnt the shiftlinkage and motor mounts bolt right up since the trannies are interchangeable... I did search but most of my q's werent answered and didnt want to bump a thread a yr old.....

flame away

if the hatch is stock why not put the f22 in it just use a h22 mount kit

I'm not sure, but would a h22 head bolt up to the f22? I mean they are practically the same engine.

i think that it would but you would have to somethind similler to LS/Vtech. a lot of ---- for not a lot of powe and also very $$$ and time consuming. just get the 1g DSM turbb/manifold and boost away ;)

i think u are thinking of a h23 head... but i probably will just buy rods, put these ring on and boost away... what other weak points would there be? just a nice headgasket?

An h22 head will work on an f22a? you just have to fill in two oil holes that don't match and change the lower timing gear just like an h23 frankenstien..and you have to cut the waterpipe that runs underneath the intakemanifold in half and weld or hose& clamp each side together from the f22 block to the h22 head.

But I say just boost the stock head.then spend the saved money on ----- and beer

sounds like a plan.. i pick it up tommorow... anyways, u think this thing will fit in a rex? i figured the f22 on 8lbs in a gutted rex would be nice for under 1k in the whole thing
