Ford Powerstroke Intercooler

I see these intercoolers on the web and seems to be fairly cheap. I'm running a TDO4h-14G on my SOHC VTEC. I was wondering how capable these intercoolers are. Ofcourse, I plan on cutting this IC in half and customize the piping and end tanks. I'm not planning on boosting any higher than 10 psi.

Any input on this? How hard would it be fabricate the end tanks? Would it be worth it? Thanks....

would it be worth it? yes (if you dont have any intercooler right now) They look good, flow good... bottom line they are good ;)

how hard is it to weld end tanks? Well, Normally you would have to use a tig welder, or a mig welder that will allow you to weld aluminum. My guess a shop would probably cost 75-125 bucks for end tanks if not more.

those IC are the size of the radiators. if you are smart find a friend that needs an intercooler and cut it in half and split the cost. when cut inhalf its still plenty big.

Correction from my original post. I meant to write 15g vice 14g...duh....

Anyway, I do have an IC now. I have the GReddy type31 FMIC kit. I was disappointed with the way the piping is routed. But that is not the reason why I'm now interested with a custom FMIC. My current FMIC is dented badly from running over a tire going 60 mph on a highway. I just thought that I should try something else and be different from a lot of people around my area. I have a buddy who can do all the welding job. This is just a part of my research. Thanks for the constructive inputs.

I cut mine into thirds, and it still fills up the whole grill. I sold one of the thirds on ebay for $92. Once you sell the two unused peices its pretty much a free intercooler
