It's easy to build a turbo kit for the focus, kind of same as for the civic, problem will come when you will ask for a cheap fuel management. There's now cheap way for fuel management in the focus. You have to think about it first.

There's the Pectel full stand alone that cost a lot $$$$$
The best choice would be the SCT that is like hondata, you can change near anything in the stock ecu, but price around 800$. Plus injector and MAF
There's some diablo chip around 300$ but not tunable. Plus injector and MAF
There's a member on one of the focus board, that sell a complet fuel management as a chip MAF and injectors for around 850$.
You can't put an fmu in it.
You can't put an AFC in it.

You can try Megasquirt but I don't think it as been done yet.

Good luck with the svt

i dont know how old this thread is, as i just signed up. i have a homebuilt turbo focus, and i can personally say it was an awesome project and im very happy with the results, HOWEVER the focus is in no way a cheap build. if it wasnt for me buying all brand new parts for my build, it could have been cheaper, but i spend $4k to do it, race clutch included. the tunning software from SCT now is $650, not including maf and injectors. im using a mustang cobra maf sensor in a custom 3" tube, in blow-through, and 42# ford racing injectors. the zetec motors are actually very strong, and there are guys running upwards of 14psi on the stock motor with good tunes, and the best stock focus hp# was 365whp on 17psi using the pectel standalone and a kenne-belle boost-a-pump.
