Focus turbo
A friend of mine put me on to you guys because he says your so good. Heres the problem. I want to peice together a turbo system for my 2002 zx5. Ive bin on most of the focus forum sites and to be honet they dont really tell you much other than which name brand kit to buy. They calem that if you want to break 200whp you have to spend at leat $3000. My friend that refered me to laughed actually got pissed. So does any one know of any good dyi forums or any place to get started at. Ive got a good idea of what I need to get and what do but im worried that im going to get into this and have no one to ask questions, if I run into problems. Really I was wondering about the fuel management for the focus. Does any one know the afc or safc and if so the wireing digram. Thanks alot.

Re:Focus turbo
ok i dont know ---- about those motors but i know
1.) anything can be done, think about the guys that started doing turbo D's they were doing it wayyyy back in the day before any kits were aroudn as far as i know
2.) anything can be fabbed test fit some piping and a turbo and where youd put a intercooler and piping etc basically figure out a general layout
3.) find someone that can weld good and figure out how to mock something up if you wanto go this far, you will definetly need a plate to start out with though, or either adapting a stock/aftermarket one to weld onto you will also need an adapter plate for whatever turbo you will need which would also have to be custom
one note: lets not try to re-invent the wheel here if we dont have to, see if any of these companys that make the "kits" for your car will sell you just the manifold, probably not but hey its worth a shot
4.) dont bother with a afc or safc im sure there are better things out there ask about ecu stuff on your focuz board
5.) why not sell it and buy a civic
good luck i think you got a headache on your hands, but you would probably be the cats pajamas to all your focuz buddys

Re:Focus turbo
i am doing my bro's SVT
so far the pricelist is:
512 for T3 turbo and manifold
190 for intercooler
50 for couplers...
some more for oil lines
i am projecting about 200 for pipes and then
about 500-700 for injectors, maf, and chip
so yeah... we'll see how it turns out

Re:Focus turbo
Ok, that's crazy.
Couplers $3 each. Maximum of about 7 required
Oil lines $75
TunerToys injectors (flowed to whatever you need) $200ish
T3 Turbo $50-50,000
TunerToys has a piping kit that can be welded up in whatever configuration you need.
Maf and chip, uhhhhh, I don't know. I'm a honda guy. We don't have that ----.

Re:Focus turbo
It costs a little more because you cant just slap on
an FMU because of the returnless fuel system and you
also have to get a chip to address the stock timing
wich is very aggressive for a stock car add boost and
bye bye motor.
PS heres a couple pics of my setup.
