FMIC Question.
How's it going everyone?
I sold my crx so i haven't been on here in a long time. I now own a 90' rx7, and want to do a FMIC. What are my options for piping it? besides paying a shop to pipe it? Thanks. |
Re:FMIC Question.
buy mandrel-bent pipes and do it yourself.

Re:FMIC Question.
ok....
with what method? Would mig welding them work? I have never tried tig welding, but have access to a mig welder. Any other methods? that are really cheap for the time being? |
Re:FMIC Question.
would pvc piping work? or radiator hose?
|
Re:FMIC Question.
First do some measuring, then buy a FMIC that will fit behind your bumper, then fit it up to see you have space to even run the pipes. then know how thick u want the pipes, and estimante what/how many U bends you need.
cut then to run the piping, and then.....connect then with silicon connectors. hope that helps (if not, then do a search for mazda/rotary/RX-7 forum, you can get better help there) |
Re:FMIC Question.
farg, it's not a car specific problem
Just wondering if radiator hose or pvc are suitable temporary solutions for intercooler piping. |
Re:FMIC Question.
for temporary yes, but why spend the trouble doing everything twice, just do it once and be done with it

Re:FMIC Question.
i agree.

Re:FMIC Question.
well this guy that i saw at a hang out used firefighter hose for charge pipes! they where flat when the car was off. as soon as he turned the car on, they started blowing up like ballons! looked funny ass ---- but it worked! he was boosting 10psi. :o

Re:FMIC Question.
how the hell did he even get the hose to seal to things?
I'm sure there is a nice writeup on what about you need to do the upgrade to your car, check around some of the forums. |
