FMIC End tanks
I'm going to use a Saab Viggen FMIC (http://images.cardomain.com/member_i.../312195_14.jpg),but the thing is that they have plastic endstanks and both are facing towards the engine making the turbo to intercooler charge pipe a restrictive bend. Since these FMIC are aluminum they could get endtank made and have them face the way I want too, right? More or less how much will this cost (i dont want to be cheated on)? Also, right now I'm using a radiator hose (L shaped) that is 2.5" in dia. and is making more than a 90 degree bend so it could hook up with the FMIC, it does pinch but not so bad,I know this will effect flow, but what effects would happen if I leave it in that angle? Sorry for the long post but I'm finally in my last steps of completing my HMT (after 8 months)
go to a metal yard, find out the dimentions of each end tank to your liking, and buy a sheet of aluminum that will cover that area, and get 2 aluminim cylinders for the inlet/outlet
measure and trace out the different sides of the sheet to make endtanks, cut it out or take it to a steel shop to cut out (cheap) and have someone weld them altogether and weld them to the core.
done, easy, worth it
