i think yours might fit because its up higher...im not positive but i think mine was even with that bottom bit of the core support...whatever

I have a 97 hatch and my jrc 6 inch didnt wanna fit when i first mounted it but then used the longer brackets so it sits back and i ended up cutting all the old plastic up front out .. oh well looks good tho
