ACT ProLite XACT Flywheel
8.5lbs.

ACT StreetLite XACT Flywheel
12lbs.

I'd personally prefer the 12 lb but many others will say go with the 8.5.

Less inertia is not good for a turbo motor. Inertia keeps the R's up between shift. Plus they aren't great on the street. For a racecar I would say go gor it.

I like them lighter. 7lbs. or nothing. 8) 12lbs. is hardly lighter than a stock 92-95 flywheel so why bother? You can have a machine shop shave the stock flywheel down to 12 lbs. for alot cheaper than an aftermarket flywheel. :-\

does the clutch give any damage to flywhell?

oh! BE CAREFUL! Shaving flywheels can be VERY dangerous. There is a very small chance of it, but the first time I saw someone killed by a flywheel exploding, I was dead set on not screwing with them. Do it right or not at all. Please beleive what I tell you, I turn flywheels for a living. If you you do get one shave make sure to have a machine shop rebalance it. Ideally you are taking a neutral amount of material off all the way around the back of the wheel, but it rarely comes out that perfect.
As for the flywheel, when I changed my to a 9 pound, I really didn't notice a huge difference. I got the hook up from where I work so I didn't have to buy it, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.

You saw someone get killed by a flywheel? Talk about a freak accident. ??? I would have to say it had nothing to do with the shaving of the flywheel and more to do with the installation or other factors.

True, true...all I'm really saying is that if you want a lightened F/W...get one that was made for what you want to do...besides, shaving a factory wheel doesn't really do much at all. I did it for a couple of people and they really couldn't tell any difference...well i guess was easier to bolt on LOL... :P

They couldn't tell the difference between a lightened flywheel and a stock flywheel? ??? Have they ever driven a vehicle before? ??? :P

What is the performance difference between a 12lb. aftermarket flywheel and a shaved 12lb. factory flywheel? They both weigh the same amount and the weight is what it's all about.
