FIXED IT Need help, compressor surge
ok so i found out my boost gauge was broke so i bought another one and i got some better vacuum hose for my wastegate and bov
car was great yesterday, now with the new boost gauge and new vacuum hose i'm getting compressor surge. the gauge is reading 20 vac when at idle the car is a crx with dohc zc i have the bov hooked up after the throttle plate and the wg hooked up near the j-pipe. my boost gauge is now hooked up in a different location. it's hooked up to the fpr. the bov is hooked up to the same vac source, but no longer tee'd into the vac source. the wg is on it's own source also |
Re: Need help, compressor surge. please help asap
just wanted to add the bov is a 1g dsm and the wg is cdm, but was working great yesterday.
nothing has changed except what i put in the first post |
Re: Need help, compressor surge. please help asap
how much psi?
|
Re: Need help, compressor surge. please help asap
well with the busted gauge i was at 10psi, but i have not checked it since installing the new gauge.
no matter how much boost i'm at it will surge. 1psi -6psi before the changes today it didn't surge at any psi |
Re: Need help, compressor surge. please help asap
Hear the BOV at all? And you said its getting a dedicated line from the Intake Manifold, correct?
|
Re: Need help, compressor surge. please help asap
i don't hear the bov at all.
the dedacated line is off the back of the intake manifold before it was off the same line, but had a tee on it for some emissions ----. now it's by it's self and the emissions vac is tee'd into another line |
Re: Need help, compressor surge. please help asap
i'm guessing either the diaphram in your BOV is torn, the vacuum line is pinched, or you have a vacuum leak. Springs in 1g bov's shouldn't be an issue for 10lbs.

Re: Need help, compressor surge. please help asap
i got it fixed, i just hooked it up to a different vac souce. not sure what is wrong with the one it was in, but it's working great now.
also my old boost gauge was 2 psi off. it was @8 psi. now it's at 10psi where it belongs. thanks for the help |
