Hi im new on the forum i have a 92 civic 4door whit a D15B7 whit 325 000km no oil consomation

im from quebec i dont speak englich very well so scuse me for error

i am started my project few month ago and i have bought some part on ebay i have for aproximatly 800$cn for part

-Garette turbo from a sabb 900 whit AR of .48*(Freshly rebuilt)
-BOV from 1g of DSM
-Saab 900 wastegate housing with a toyota supra or celica actuator
-DSM intercooler
-HF manifold

I will run the setup at 8Psi and if i like the sensation of turbo spooling i will buy 450cc DSM injector and a chipped ecu and i will put a vitara piston kit whit eagle rod

does someone have pics of a civic 92-95 whit a dsm intercooler i dont know how to put my charge pipe(Morasse4@hotmail.com)
And at 8 Psi dose my engine will run well whit no fuel menagment and no injector

Tanks a lot

Re: firt turbo project

so if i chip my ecu and i put a datalogin whit 450 dsm injector this will be easy for find a map and does will be safe for my engine

HMTguy 05-02-2007 08:58 PM

Re: firt turbo project

It will still need to be tuned, but you can make a basemap that will be ok to drive on for a little while.

But yea, ecu+450cc injectors is the way to go.

I plan on running the 5-knob safc,msd btm & a wideband,
buy the stuff seperatly & its isn't that much,

except for the wideband.

Re: firt turbo project

so if i use a vafc2 apexis it will be more easy to tune than a standalone ecu and the price, witch one willl be the lowest for the crome pro+dataloging stuf+wideband i think is like 550$ and for vafc i would like to know what i need execept for the vafc apexis2

VAFC2 is bullshit. I can get you a chipped P06 ECU basemapped for 450's for $90 shipped.

+1

Somebody had an install of one mounted inside their bumper. It's on here somewhere...

Re: firt turbo project

so if i put a heat sheild and a hood scoop it not effeciency like i put i in the bumper?!

morasse 05-21-2007 09:18 PM

Re: firt turbo project

so if i whant to put it in the bumper i need to cut and reweld at an other place and i dont have the money for this so if i put a hood scoop or some water noozle does it will be better

Re: firt turbo project

dude please put the sidemount in the bumper on the pass side. The damn thing fits almost like it's stock! the outlet should come right through the hole in the frame rail where the airbox resonator was. I think WTF had one on his civic he did.

Do it like that. It'll keep your temps down more than putting it in the engine bay like that.

Re: firt turbo project

The problem for this guy is he has the 2nd gen DSM IC, the purple car's IC is a 1st Gen DSM. The difference is the top tank outlet - 1st gen is on the same side as the inlet, 2nd Gen has it on the opposite side of that endtank.

Apexi+wideband = $500-700

CromePro+Wideband = $450

Basemap for fuel/ignition = $30 from me via email (BIN format).

I have a D16z6 running that same turbo, cromepro, and Dsm 450's. The fuel AFR's won't be perfect (for your car, they're perfect on mine), but I've actually tuned the ignition on the dyno, and its a little conservative for 93octane. If you want to use the apexi unit and just guess on AFR's, you could go with CromeFree. Its free, you can still manipulate fuel/ignition, scale the map for DSM injectors, just no datalogging.
