why are you worried about it spiking? have you messed with the actuator or wastegate? and the turbo is ok but will just lose some steam on the topend.

is this a .48/.42 ? i had a .48/.60 on my b16, and at 6-7 psi it semmed to pull up top. but do i think this turbo was big enough? no. i would have liked to had a t3/t4. plus i was using a fmu, and was running lean

it's probably a t3 from a volvo they have 48 hotside and 52 cold side, I have one in front of me . if it is from a volvo you'll have to make yourself a gasket, as there inlet flange is a little wonky.
