First Turbo IHI RFB5

;D Got my first Turbo.
Its off an 86 impulse.
The problem is Id never seen a turbo. So had no idea for size. You guys keep saying the IHI is small. Man its a huge friging monster. You want small check out the KKK K04. Now thats smal and neat.

So after blowing 200$ on the turbo, shipping and customs Ive learnt what I really need for my two stroke project is something way way way smaller.

Even the application for my 1.3Ltr car its too big.

Whats the issue with keeping the A/c is it that there isnt enoughf space for the a/c radiator.

Can anybody recomend a much more compact turbo. With built in oil circulation.

What are the Pros and cons of hookin up the watter to the turbo.
Why does the oil line have two inputs.

Well the rHb5 is smaller than most turbos used here. I have never seen an rFb5. Is not that IHI are small, IHI is a company that makes probably hundreds of different sized turbos.

With A/c the problem is placement of the turbo itself. It depends on the manifold. If you make your own manifold you can move and put the turbo flange wherever you want and make it fit.

On a Honda with an HF or STD manifold the turbo will not fit because of the A/C compressor unless it's a small turbo and you get creative with your adapter plate.

No turbo will have built in oil. The oil would get too hot and the turbo will seize. You need to have oil circulating thru it, moving constantly.

The water keeps your temps down also, but are not neccesary, you could plug the water inlet and outlet and not run water, but is so easy to hook up that you should do it.

I don't now if I get this right but the oil has two ports, one for in and one for out, unless you mean you have two ins???

good reply dave.

you can always run an oil cooler to keep the temps down vs water (if ya got the pressure that is.. and parts).

2 stroke motor? foriegn country? 1.3L?

Where again do you live, and what are you working on? If you have access to the Japan and Europe markets then you can definately find a little tiny turbo.. could always find two really small ones and twin them.
