finally boosting but stupid little problem

well i finally got my civic boosting right today. d16z6, t3/to4b, dsm 450s, safc2, fmic, greedy type s bov, deltagate external wastegate, at 7psi. i checked everything out and looks ok but its idles kinda rough sometimes and the check engine light is on and off. i have a missing link too. also the the bottom of the turbo it is leaking a little oil. i tightened the bolt but it still does it. what can i put on that to stop the leak?

also i dont hear any pinging or knocking or anything like rocks in a can. if i was detonating or knocking would i know it? ive never herd a engine knock so i dont know what to look for. im getting the timing retarded either tomarrow or monday just to be safe.

another thing right under the oil dip stick on the block right behind the turbo, i noticed some oil on the block. i wiped it off and after i drive it its back. could i be leaking from the dip stick?

You can retard the timing yourself, just pull the negative battery terminal and then undo the 3 bolts to the dizzy, push it backwards (so that the bolts are closest to the fire wall) and then rebolt it. This gives you approximately 6 deg. of retard. Reattach the negative terminal and congratulations, now you're retarded! :) hahaha.

Uhm, you might want to consider removing the missing link piece, you want your MAP sensor to actually see the correct amount of boost that you are pushing, you're altering the voltage that it is sensing, via the AFC. That might help you with your CEL problem.
But other then that you're gonna have to tell us what code you're throwing.

As far as oil leaking, see if you can't find it anywhere on the turbo, it sounds like your feed might be drooling a little. Did you tephlon seal everything up to?

The rough idle - please tell me what you have your AFC set to at idle. Is the tach. bouncing around? If so, mine does this to, its either because of the BoV (did you connect the second nipple on it up?) or because of the AFC hack. I haven't figured out which yet :)

oil leak on the drain tube.. did you clean the gasket surfaces, and put in a new gasket.

i must agree with chacko and remove the missing link. because your safc depends on that for volage. and i assume your not boosting over 11 lbs anyways. so i say remove it. and maybe u didnt hook up the safc properly and maybe thats why its throwing a checklight. i say remove the missing link start the car back up and see if it throws a check light. if it does. check your connections again and your settings on your safc.

that makes no sense about the bov chacko, hondas dont have maf sensors, so the bov being open at idle has no effect on anything

ok ill try taking the missing link out. i thought that was there so you didnt through a cel. i dont have the second nipple on the bov hooked to anything. the afc i think is instaled right but for hack do you have to do anything diffrent then just instal it by the instructions?

that's fine; on a honda you don't need to. And yes, just install the SAFC according to instructions.
missing link+fmu+stock injectors=good
safc+450injectors+no missing link=good
safc+450injectors+missing link=bad
;D

I put a safc on a crx once and he had a check valve on it and it wouldn't barly run worth ----. We took that off and it was way better. Still had problems though for some reason.
