Fiberglass as exhaust wrap?

my down pipe doesnt have at true surface so I have a nice exhaust leak. Could I wrap my downpipe in a fibgerglass sheet? What would happen if I actually fibgerglassed it?

dont even bother trying to wrap the manifold in fiberglass, i have done it before on a 2 stroke expansion chamber.... it does work but teh cloth is a bitch to work witha dn essentially it doenst have the same heat retaining characteristics as the espestis the header wrap is made of

just buy a roll off ebay for liek 20 bucks
