a few questions ( i searched already)

i have a 77 toyota celica with a carbureted 20r engine. im looking at boosting it but i have a few questions.

im wanting to do blow through and only looking at boosting 5 pounds or less so would i need to get a "boost prepped" carb or would i be fine with like a weber 36 or holley 350??

where can i find a wastegate or boost controller that would actually go down that low to 5 psi??

would an intercooler work or much less be necessary on such low psi??

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

for the WG question....you can get a external gate...and just get the spring for 5ps1...so u can try to ghetto rig it with a chain and spring...and see how much that gives u...doesnt sound too ssafe though...and about the blow through....idk

for starters.. turbo toyotas are the ----. Furthermore, old ass turbo celicas are straight sex.

5psi is weaksauce. You can definately get a 5psi spring though. What wastegate are you planning on using?

boost controllers only increase boost, they cannot lower boost past the sping in the gate. Just for your info

not sure about your carbs. Dont know much about it, most carbs will need modification. Boost in the carbs means you have to get floats that wont collaspe under pressure and cure boost leaks that come out around all different places. If any of this doesnt make sense its because im drunk. I apoligize

im probably going to end up running a turbonetics 38mm

hopefully the carb wont have to be modified.... i was talking to some guys at turbomustangs.com and they were kinda 50/50 on a holley 350 have crush-proof floats in it. so i'll probably just have to call jegs or summit to fin out for sure ;D

Re: a few questions ( i searched already)

the only way you dont have to worry about prepping the carb is when you enclose the ENTIRE thing in a box of pressurized air (i think)
