F22A turbo throwing MAP code
A friend of mine just finished turboing his 91 Accord LX. He's using pretty much a full DSM turbo setup, turbo, SMIC, charge pipes, etc...At first we ran an SAFC hack with an SAFC II and 450cc injectors, leaned out all the way it was still running EXTREMELY rich. We switched back to stock injectors and set the SAFC back to 0% across the board. Now the problem is when you drive it under heavy throttle or load, it throws a MAP code. The boost is only hitting 6psi also. Today we put in a MBC today and that is working correctly. Yesterday it was spiking to 15psi and throwing no codes at all. Any suggestions, I'm an N/A guy and haven't messed with too much turbo stuff. Thanks.
no fuel management
when the map sensor sees boost the ecu will freak out...
The AFC hack is there so when you're boosting the signal that goes to the ecu is lowered by the precentage that you lowered the fuel trim on the AFC.
Where you really running rich??
was the car idling?? and what was your AFC settings??

Yes, extremely rich, you could see and smell raw fuel dumping out at 50% leaned across the board. It was bad, the reason I'm asking is becasue Honda MAP's can usually hold 10-11 PSI. I know of many people around here running 10lbs on stock MAP no problem only using a VAFC or SAFC.
Yeah, but not with the AFC set at 0%...that means the voltage going to the map stays the same...when you set the AFC to -50% it cuts the voltage to the map from 5v to 2.5v so you'll be able to boost about 1bar in theory.
Did you put it at 50% or -50%
you should set it at on minus...like said before put it on -38% all across...

OK it was LEANED out 50% which would mean -50%. When it was hitting 15psi it was at -35% across the board, sorry if I was unclear. Now it has stock injectors put in and it is at 0%. The only reason it was hitting 15psi was because of a bad wastegate.
damn... it was runny fine a day or two ago.. im assuming ur talking about josh's 4dr?? right
eh.. reset the ecu.. check the safc connections..
ok.. IMO.. something safc related isnt connected right.. because if u have the safc all the way -50% and its still rich.. then its not functioning properly.. so recheck the connections...
since u DO have the stock injectors in now.. id just put the safc to a positive number.. not sure what they can handle.. but 30-40% across the board.. till u deside to go back to 450cc's.. running around with stock 240cc injectors and boost is not smart at all.. im glad to see u got the wastegate problem fixed..
recheck everything man.. something must have gotten loose or undone.. for the safc not to function properly.. go to that website i gave u that shows step by step on how to setup the safc and check everything over..
