Default External wg mbc questions

Hi,
I have a few q's about external wg boost control:
I am running an ssac external wg, I am controlling boost via a ball spring valve, using the bottom port of the wg. I currently have a 3.6 psi spring in there. My question is, If I switch to using the top port of the gate with the ball/spring valve, would it be better to use the 3.6 psi spring, or should I change it out for the 5.6 psi spring I have. I am hoping that changing to a stiffer spring along with switching to using the top port for boost control will solve my issues with huge boost spikes. I have also read that using the top port may minimize the spikes as opposed to my current way of controlling boost.
What do you guys think??

just leave it on the bottom where it belongs. if your using a cheepie boost controller that is brobably the problem

i thought you could put a small amount of boost to the top hole to control it. the higher the boost on the top port the higher boost the engine sees.

I am using a pressure relief valve from grainger. I don't think that it is the problem.
I want add pressure to the top port of the gate to create an opposing pressure, thus necessitating more pressure to open my wastegate, similar to what was outlined here->> https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=73405.0
I really just want to know if it would be better to run the 5.6psi spring to level out the boost spikes.

from what i have read, you want to use the stiffest spring possible. basiclly if your low boost setting is 10psi and your high boost setting is 15psi then use a 10psi spring and a boost controller to get the 15psi. i hope that makes sence
