external wastegate question
i have been lookin at my wastegate, and im a little confused on how to install it. well i have it on the manifold, but there is a hole on the top cap, and on the bottom of the wastegate. both are threaded so i dont know what to do with them. i have been told that the top one has to be vented, so i dont need to put a bolt in there. but its the bottom one im not sure about. should i leave that unblocked also? thanks

Re: external wastegate question
leave the top as is but you'll need a barbed fitting for the bottom one cause that runs to a vac source

Re: external wastegate question
so with the bottom one, would i just run it to any vaccum source, or is there one you recommend i run from. ive been told i can run a boost controller from it, is that actually posssible? i was asking quesions on how to up the boost levels on the external waste gatelast night. i was told to take the top hat off and put a spacer on top of the spring to raise the spring tension. i took it apart last night and its the most huge pain in the ass to put back together, let alone when i have it on the motor and in the car. so i think a boost controller would be a good idea if i have to go through that much trouble to change boost levels. any recommendations on boost controllers and what vaccum line to run the waste gate off of. thanks

Re: external wastegate question
With an electronic boost controller you'll also need to run the top fitting. As for vac source I've never had a problem running it off the brake booster.

Re: external wastegate question
I don't know about putting a spacer in? I wouldn't recomend that, best way to raise boost would be to put the correct spring in for the level of boost you want to run, a boost comtroller would be fine too but may not be as reliable, I run my wastgate of of the PCV vac line but any should work
