Ext wg vacuum source?
First time using a ext WG so does it just get it's vacuum source like the same as an int wg? Straight from the compressor housing or just tap a vacuum line? Also what is the hole on the top of the WG for? Do I just leave this open or plug it?

Re: Ext wg vacuum source?
same as internal, connect it right to your compressor housing if there is already a fitting there.

Re: Ext wg vacuum source?
not a vacuum line, a boost line. The wastegate opens when it sees boost, a bov opens when it sees vacuum.
WG=pre-throttle body line BOV= post throttle body line post pics of which hole you are talking about, or at least tell us which wg you have |
Re: Ext wg vacuum source?
I still don't understand why people still run theirs to the turbo compressor nipple. The wastegate will open earlier from hooking it up there because of the pressure drop across the intercooler. You want to hook it up after the intercooler. Most people i know hook theirs up to the intake manifold. Also just leave the top port open unless you have an EBC.

Re: Ext wg vacuum source?
hook it up as close to the intake manifold as possible. i run mine from my brake booster line, between the intake manifold and the check valve above the brake booster. this is the second setup ive done like this with no problems

Re: Ext wg vacuum source?
Cool thanks. Thats how I have it currently setup since the compressor housing doesn't have a nipple and figured it had to go somewhere else.

Re: Ext wg vacuum source?
i thought you were supposed to hook up the wg line after the tb from the intake mani cause you want the wg to see the same boost as the manifold.
