it would be best to upgrade to at least a 2.5". I'm going to be running a 2.25" exhaust because i don't have enough money to get a whole new 2.5" exhaust setup.

I'm running a 2" on my CRX simply because it cost me a ------- fortune when my car was N/A. If I had the money I would get a 3"from the turbo back, but my car seems to run well as it is so . . . .

Is it a must that I do upgrade to bigger exhaust though? I eventually will but I won't have enough money, I would only be running 5psi

A bigger exhaust will help you spool faster and get the maximum potential out of the turbo. Is it a must? No. You can run on anything, you just won't see the best performance you can get. If you're looking for a cheap 2.5" setup, OBX makes a midpipe in 304 SS. All mandrel bent and bolts up to your stock stuff. I picked on up on ebay for $90 shipped. I'm not boosting yet, but my plan is to just run a straight pipe from the midpipe back with no muffler.
