exhaust for junkyard turbo
im going with a budget turbo set up and i wanted to know about exhaust? i was thiknin bout gettin a cat back system with 2.5 piping but ive seen other muffers that say FOR TURBO 3 INCHES do i need to go 3 or can i use a 2.5 or does it not really matter

2.5 is fine. 3" would flow much better but I doubt you'll notice a difference unless your on a dyno. I'd also say if it's a budget setup and you want to go real cheap, just buy some exhaust piping from an auto shop and get a "Cherry Bomb" muffler or just a resonator or something and slap it on. They are like $19 around here and don't sound too bad on my Civic. I even Gutted the bitch and welded it back together for that custom touch

thanx for the info also should i get a hi flo cat. because basically what im doin is jy turbo for now and everythiing else im buyin new so its all set for my swap this winter or so.

Well, a high flow cat couldn't hurt anything. I too just replaced the stock cat in my FI Integra to just a resonator. Just remember turbo's like to flow freely. So the less restriction in your exhaust that you have the better. I mean you could still run the stock cat, but I'd bet you'll feel a slight difference in power swapping it out for something less restrictive.
Also, i'm not sure what the max psi on a T25 actually is, but I wouldn't worry about maxing it out especially if your running a stock block with stock internals. What engine is this setup going on by the way? D15?

2.5 would be plenty big; might even be able to squeeze 2.0-2.25 in sizes (crush bent 2.5). Dump the cat. Unless you need to take emissions, just ride without it.
A T25 can flow up to 20psi, on stock internals I would leave that thing at 7. Engine managment is the key here, don't get too crazy.
As far as a muffler, get whatever flows the best/sounds the best. I've never been too much of a fan of those cherry bomb glass packed tubes, but if it works for Trance, could work for you. I can tell you installing a flowmaster on a d16 still gives you that "rice" sound.
BTW Trance, got an audio clip of your exhaust setup?

Unless you're planning on flowing huge numbers, under 3 inches is fine. Lose the cat if you can.
Search around for numbers on your setup(7 psi, d16 right?), but I'm gonna throw out 180WHP if you tune it right.
