Default evo 8 turbo & manifold question

my friend gave me his evo 8 turbo and his manifold
(he upgraded).. was wondering if any of you guys used this turbo on any of your homemade setups. I heard of someone modifying the manifold in order for it to be useful for them.... just seeing if i could put this into some use

i'm sure you'd have no problem using the turbo, but your SOL on that mani. people drill a few hole out on them, and use them on f-series motors, but d and b are diff.

Good luck trying to drill a few holes in the Evo 8 mani and attempting to use it on an F-series, darksol2005. You do that with the earlier Eclipse/GVR4 4G63 turbo manifold if you want a really poor fitment that loses both PS and AC and creates problems routing pipe and oil feed/drain. If you haven't noticed, darksol, the Evo 8 drivetrain is *flipped* in the engine bay, compared to Eclipse/GVR4, and you can't get an Evo 8 manifold to work on an earlier Eclipse/GVR4...

Evo 8 turbo is a 16G of some description - it's king dick of the 16G, as a matter of fact. Most of the Evo 8 guys upgrade from them for no reason. It's enough turbo to hit a little past 400 whp.

Yeah its a Twin Scroll i believe. SOmething like 16 PSI at 3500rpm and it peaks at like 19 PSI @ 5000 rpms. I know two guys that are pushing over 380 WHP on their stock turbo. Thats good enough to get and Evo into the mid 11's so i say at about 10 PSI you should be rocking. I heard something about someone trying to make use to the twin scroll or whatever on a honda, but i never heard any outcome.

word, TJ is using one of these on his single cam crx. butt dyno says about 375hp at 22-24psi and pulls 11.50@130mph
