Yup true...EW4's won't fit every other D-series it will...even de ZC a friend of mine had one on his ZC

part way threw production they changed the naming of the engines so there is some d15s and ew's(same engines basically) in the 84-87 civic/CRX

Ew-1 Carb'd, 2 Carb'd, 3 FI, 4 FI and 5 FI(jdm)

and D15a1 Carb'd, a2Carb'd and a3 FI

So the EW4 And D15A3 Are the same engine.
