Emptying a nitrous bottle...
this might sound stupid, but I need to empty my 10lb bottle....gauge shows about 150-200psi on it, can I just open the valve and let the the rest out? or should I take it to a shop/fill station and let them do it? thanks for any help :)

Re:Emptying a nitrous bottle...
DO NOT completely empty the bottle. It can cause moisture to get into the bottle, causing it to rust and loosing some of its strength and eventually explode. Plus, if your going to get it refilled why not leave the 200psi in and save money?

Re:Emptying a nitrous bottle...
I dunno what that guy at the top is saying about the bottle not being aloud to be totally empty. You dont think people use all there nitrous in there bottle? Mine sat in my room completely empty for a year, installed it, ran about 12 bottles off of it. Re emptied
And NO, you cannot ship it like that with any pressure. PM, RedlineGSR on honda-tech. He shipped me mine and my friends and one got sent back to him with a nice sized (like 60 bucks) charge because it had to be contained or something and discharged safely. Emptying does no harm at all |
