Is it possible to put an electric clutch on a SC so that you can control when the SC is on rather than all the time??

 

they come from the factory like that

 

so all SC come with a mechinism so that you can control when the super charger is engaged

yeah. I have seen people do it all the time. Just take the one out of your A/C compressor and weld it up to the input shaft of the S/C. Then you can be all trick, and push the A/C for the S/C. Maybe even make the button say S/C.

 

that reminds me of that car in mad max. that be kinda tight.

Ok. to clear up this thread.

SOME...not ALL Superchargers come with an electric clutch to engage them. Others just have a static pully that spins the S/C all the time

My supercharger that I have on my car is an electric clutched one off a mercedes SLK.

 

nobody here said that they all have an electric clutch. i think that most of us here know that superchargers are usually fixed on a belt. thats why WHISKEYDICKS45 was asking HOW to make an eletric clutch work. did you even read any of this thread?
