Re:egay Wlaboro pump is dying, which stock fuel pump will fit 99'si?

the guy at the dyno where i got it tunned told me it was dying out. i had to purchase a fuel pressure regulator that day from a different shop cause even with the vafc going into +5 it wouldn't richen the air/fuel ratio cause the dyno guy said that the 10psi i was running was pushing some of the fuel back into the injectors. after the FPR was installed it did good but the more times the car did a dyno pull, more fuel had to be added cause the reading was coming in leaner. it was good by the time i left, but the dyno guy told me that if the engine was bogging after i turned on the car the next day after it cooled down that the fuel pump was dying and to tighten the FPR all the way so it would let less fuel in, just so i would be able to drive the car (without going into boost) no problems with it the next day though. i was just asking cause i remember him telling me that and discount auto has a special on fuel pumps right now. let me know what you guys think, i don't know much about this but i know i've been running 10-even 14psi in 4th & 5th and no detonation.

my walboror also took a dive a few days ago. maybe a manufacturer defect. anyway im running a gsr fuel pump for now (while im waiting for my new one) which some people say can hold anywhere from 250-300 whp. we'll see. good luck

well, i'm running on the walboro now though. i just got the FPR turned up a little to compensate. but it is way weaker now then new. i'm getting a new 91' supra auto zone fuel pump. they come with a lifetime warranty $104.00 new

I heard if you run your car under a 1/4 tank of gas it can mess up the walbro 255. True?

if that's true then my 255walboro is shot to hell, and it's stil in my car though. only thing is i have the FPR turned up to compensate.

I've had 3 different walbro pumps and everyone has worked flawlessly. I have also used stock fuel pressure regulators as well. Never needed to bump up the pressure at all.

I highly doubt you even have a problem with the pump, get a fuel pressure gauge and watch what happens when you boost, I bet it stays right where its suppose to. Also, you turned the afc hack to +5 ? Why would you do that? you do have 450cc injectors right? When you put the AFC settings in the postive this changes the entire map meaning the map is going to be hitting 3.0+ volts which maybe why you are having problems.

Re:egay Wlaboro pump is dying, which stock fuel pump will fit 99'si?

the afc was put to + when the tunner first tried tunning it and the car wouldn't run richer. the end result at the dyno was in the - side of the afc after vtec at 5500 rpm the lowest setting on the vafc is at -6, -40 before and in the -20s' to -30s' before and after. the car works good just like it is with the walboro 255 and the air/fuel gauge reads like it did when at the dyno. maybe the tunner wants me to go again just to make more money, this was 2 moths ago. i could get a good deal on the fuel pump, so ima end up getting it just to be on the safe side. you think my car will run pig rich with the supra fuel pump and need retunning? thanks for the responses, good to know others experiences with the same pump.
