first off i would like to say thanks to everyone here for all the great info ive been reading up on this site for a while now and ive learned a lot about diy ----. Heres my question ive searched but couldnt find anyting. What makes a good efficent intercooler for my setup my choices are the waiting for another cck group buy or getiing one of these egay intercoolers for around 130-150 sipped, do they have piece of ---- cores or are they any good? I plan on finishing my setup this winter break (about a month from now) and this is the one thing im not shure about

My setup now is a 98 civic ex with around 87k miles and 180-185 compression across. here is all the junk i have so far

virgin p28 from a junk yard 94 si paid 40 bucks
14b form a 94 talon free
450cc dsm blue tops
hf Maniforld

and i plan on getting an obdII -> obdI harness, adapter plate and an oil feed kit form ebay real soon

I bought an ebay intercooler it turned out great, it was 6" by 28" by 2 1/2" I think. I'm making 246hp on a b16 @ 10psi with it .60 t3

 

got an ss-auto. looks fine to me

That looks to be a bar and plate, where the Custom Coach is a Tub and fin (if I remember correctly). There are pros/cons for each, but most people prefer the tub and fin. As far as getting ---- from Ebay, there are many sponsers on this site, and by the sounds of it you enjoy this site quite a bit. Do the right thing mang

 

I thought it was the other way around and people prefered Bar and Plate over TubE and fin?
