alright guys heres my problem i have an 89 ef hatch, im using on hf manifold with a 14b turbo, the problem is i tried to put my turbo on today and the front crossmember was in the way, and the wastegate hits the crossmember not allowing it to line up and go on, ive heard of this happening but i need pointers on what to do, please post pics on what you did to the crossmember to get it to fit or explane thanks.

ive heard of the bmc on hitting, i made my own out of a thinner slate.


if i were you i would just grind it down a little bit

will it hurt anything if i were to grind down what i need or just to hit it with a hammer

yea you can but its going to be hard to get a good wack with the motor in there. try heating it up good with a torch first

your going to either cut a chunk out of the crossmember, or buy a traction bar. Your probably going to want the traction bar anyway... ;)

i dont have money to spend on a tracktion bar i was just going for a budget boost and now this happend

if the snail is hitting the crossmember, i can only imaging what the oil return line looks like :l

none the less i've had this problem and i'm telling you how to fix it soooooooooo. heat with a torch and hammer or grind it down

look at what hits, remve somthing. problem fixed, or clock it a bit if that will help

Just buy a traction bar and make your life easier.You can fight with it all you want but really after 3-4 times dealing with it Im on the traction bars then boost program now for EF's :-\

EFs come with traction bars duh.
