ECU FMU Injectors questions
So I've been reading for a while and I am starting to get confused
I plan on running about 250whp on a d16y7, with a t3/t04e 40 trim I am wondering if I go over 10 pounds will I need a new MAP sensor (read something about this in the stickies) I will need a chipped ecu? what model? 450cc dsm injectors should cut it I think Upgraded fuel pressure regulator? Can anyone tell me the parts I need to get these number. I am sorry for the newb questions... but ECUs and FMUs is where it gets tricky for me and I just need some clarification thx everyone -Kevin |
Re: ECU FMU Injectors questions
You need a chipped ECU... you can buy a chip kit from ------------- if you have soldering skills, or you can buy a pre-chipped ECU. A chipped ECU will allow you to edit fuel & ignition maps by using Crome or something similar.
You do not need a new fuel pressure regulator. DSM 450's are fine. You got the right idea... go on ------------- and you will probably learn a few things. |

Re: ECU FMU Injectors questions
98 Honda Dx Hatch (Canadian) with a D16Y7
and it is obd2 so I would deff need the harness would I be better off buying the already chipped ECU or buying a used one and getting it chipped? it would be cheaper, but is it worth the hassle or can it be fvcked up when it is trying to be chipped? if I did buy the ECU is one easier to chip than the others? |
Re: ECU FMU Injectors questions
Your best bet is to order a chipped p28 from xenocron with a basemap already made up. It just seems more simple to get everything from the same person, this way if something goes wrong you can call one guy and not have to worry about weather it is the ECU or the Chip. You will need a obd1-obd2a conversion harness. just my 2cents

buy one from him that's already chipped, gaurenteed to work. ---- used ecu's from junkyards, youre lucky that they work when he tests them.
