You will have to modify almost any "universal" kit. We really can't tell you what you'll have to modify since we don't know what motor you have, size of your intercooler etc etc.

i was wondering about this to i figured it would be the best bang for my buck i found a piping kit for 65 dollars i thouht that sounded pretty legit

cvcrcr99 06-07-2009 11:58 PM

Honestly, piping is piping. Especially since the charge piping doesn't get extremely hot, which does cause cracks in the eBay exhaust manifolds and such. You can pick up an eBay CAI for a Civic for like $45, just throw away the filter it comes with, use a K&N or Dryflow, and you're set.

I see nothing wrong with eBay charge piping.

ebay charge piping works fine, its great for turbo applications and like cvcrcr99 said, for just a simple cai or sri.

my setup is a stock mini-me. block is from a ef, head and trany off a ex ek goin into a eg. turbo is a teo4h off a late 80's chrysler lebaron. runnin a walbro 255lph fuel pump wit dsm 450's blue tops, hf manifold. got things mocked up on a stand and my next step intercooler pipn.

and was curious if people orderd or tried that pipn off ebay n if they could send me to the right direction or if they have done write ups.

thats wat im sayn 65 bux plus like 35 for shippin, thats 100 bux for pipn no bad at all!
jus wanted to know how much cuttin is needed.

Insidious408 06-09-2009 09:56 AM

i have bought several kits from ebay now, cxracing sells some good ones. but overall they are all worth the money.

turbof22a 06-09-2009 01:05 PM

its not rocket science to get these kits to work. its pretty plain and simple. intercooler piping is the easiest part of it all. what is wrong with this site now i remember people on here used to use their brains

Insidious408 06-09-2009 07:08 PM

thanks, 2gtsi i was lookn into that one.

turbof22a, i never said or asked if it was rocket science man. jus needed some info on wat people where buyn off from on ebay or lookin in wat direction to get pipn from.

guess ill jus order it and go from there.

pretty much ebay piping is good.
i saw grab a few more of those little clamp things or whatever they are to go between sections of pipe, cause with cutting and what not, you don't know how many you'll need.
I know my setup is gonna be pretty nutso with the cutting once i get it all done, because i have a pretty unique way i wanna set up things. (unique as in i haven't seen anyone do it on a miata yet. you'll see when i get everything done in a couple months. haha.)

I just got a tape measure & went under the hood & measured up for what size on the TB, intercooler outlets & turbo inlet. Its easier if the engine & cooler are installed in the car so you will get a better idea of what lengths are involved & if anything fouls a pipe run, it will be apparent that you need bends etc to route around it.

You may need need reducers to step the sizing down (or up) & the 90deg elbows can have reducers which I used off of the intercooler outlets.

thepolishman 06-13-2009 08:47 AM

just measure twice, cut once :) iv installed a few ebay intercooler piping kits, work pretty good, just take a little time

Insidious408 06-13-2009 03:23 PM

yea i have the motor in my car, and the intercooler mounted, jus need the pipes! but shouldn be that hard, i think im jus makin it seem like its a biotch! but makes better sense wen u say to measure wit a tape! ha...

2BarRacing 06-13-2009 08:36 PM

---- the tape measure go by eye and grab the pipe where it neds to be cut honda charge pipe is so easy.

IowaTCoupe 06-16-2009 12:19 AM

I have a honda.... i see stuff on ebay... can i buy it? Will it fit??/ Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
