Air-to-water isnt worth it unless... 1. you absolutely have no room for a2a or isnt feasible (mr2, nsx, etc) 2. you want to use ice for drag racing. Otherwise they kinda suck for a regularly driven street car. IMHO not worth it. Your still just moving heat from one medium to the other, and you cant acheive negatve ambient temps without ice. BTW whoever said CO2, as I recall in middle school we learned that CO2 displaces oxygen, ie fire extinguishers. Oxygen makes more power, the lack of is as such. What makes you think that CO2 spraying on your IC wont make it to your intake and into your engine? Yeah maybe good just to freeze it, but your not gaining anything because you really only use the first 4 inches of the IC anyway, the rest just acts like a big heat sink. Good for back to back runs at the track, but how may people do that, and why bother with that when you can turn the boost controller another turn and make more power? |
Re: EBAY AIR/WATER? anyone use one?
its just tough to get an air to air in there. with out cutting the ---- out of the bumper unless i get the vr4 bumper.. hmm idk. im just wanting to go for 350 hp or so. im just trying to come up with ideas since this bible isnt going to cut it in a while and it in the engine bay right now haha.
and yes co2 sprayers are not reccomended haha you lose power. its been proven. ( on a dyno though) and no2 can ---- with things too turbo placement depending.. and im jsut leaning to air to water, i know some alltracs use them .. i might pick up another pump sometime to push and pull more water. |

dude, let me know, i am about to throw my ---- on craigslist. my stuff is brand new. seriously, i only want like $35 for the pump i have (perfect for your setup), and only $60 for the sorrocco radiator plus shipping, which would be like $10 for the pump and $20 for the radiator. let me know. |
Re: EBAY AIR/WATER? anyone use one?
I got one of the Ebay coolers for $85 shipped. It looks really nice honestly.
Get a bosch pump out of a caddy, cobra, or cobalt SS or something, they are way worth it if you plan on using it for more than the track. You dont have to have a fancy resivor setup, you can fairly easily just run a closed system... I have a shitty radiator from a old ford ---- box for my heat exchanger. |

I have considered running an A2W ic setup on my 951, as space is a problem, but I kinda feel like keeping it simple will yield less headache in the future.
