e-cutout & stock muffler VIDEOS

I've been getting tired of loud exhaust on my drive to school, so I made some changes to my exhaust. I gave it an e-cutout I made, and a silent muffler. It may be home-made, but it works perfect and doesn't scrape for once. HUGS the chassis.

I'll be taking some in-car shots tomorrow when I get it street-tuned a little better, but for now this is what a 3" DP w/resonator sounds like VS a 3" DP w/resonator and stock chaimbered muffler. It still has the original EX tip - cops at school are going to go crazy because of it >:D

BTW if someone has seen a faster e-cutout, lemme know. I can make this one around 2.5x faster :6

You sure? This is with a ~70 degree sweep of the motor, on the low setting (42rpm vs 62 rpm). I could also add springs so its full power longer - only half the sweep each way is powered due to inertia. I ruined 2 aluminum arms before I got it right. :1

How does yours power the butterfly?

Why would you need it any faster than that?

To have the fastest e-cutout ever made.

Mine is spur gear driven, its sick fast...

The motor I have on it I think is a 5 volt servo motor... and I just run 12v to it. It SNAPS open, and a spring will snap it closed when the brake is released.

I was thinking about a setup like that, but I honestly didn't want to get into the complications behind controlling a servo motor. Mine is just a relay, 2 switches, and the motor. May I ask how you ended up moving that servo? I'd really like to see how you did yours, if its as fast as you say it is. Vids too pls :)

very nice.. make me want 1 .. i'm sure it's alot cheaper than getting a ful exhaust done?
anyway to make it open by itself by certain rpm..? would be co0l to have it open 4500-5000 rpm...
