I know you all guys dont know my engine its unique in europe.
D15z6 114HP stock E-VTEC i have a K03 turbo, h22 injectors, BOV ,VAFC, missing link and all the bla bla needed. Iam only hitting 155HP and 230 nm @3200RPM but @6800RPM i have less than 140HP what can be wrong? is my wastegate fucked up or is it the mbc regulator? Iam pumping at 1.1 BAR how much should i run normaly? |

You're running over 15psi? :o Wow, what has been done to the motor?

i would think you would need to take out the missing link either way so the afc can read the right voltage

Well the E-VTEC was released here in Canada in the early 90's, It didn't really fly so I guess they pulled it.
The things I would say to consider is 1. The amount of fuel you are running at the higher rpms could really be ------- you up. 2. E-VTEC is made to run really lean and have excellent economy maybe you should look at what is happening with the system at higher revs, is it even switching the rocker lock over? I mean is VTEC engaging? 3. At 1.1 bar you may be out of your turbo eff. range, or are you counting atmosphere? Calculate your CFM values without your turbo and with. 4. I would remove your missing link and use the VAFC properly with a BTM or someother timing retard. Your bottom end sounds solid but something must be wrong there, you are losing WAYYYYY to much power. |

I have: D16A6 head, D15b2 head ( same as A6 ), D16Z6 head,a vtec-E head, and the vtec-e is a POS !!! Its like a HF head with 16 valves !!! Its total junk !! I couldn't even give mine away !!! I got scamme don ebay ( was described as D16Z6, and I payed $225 shipped for it, ouch !! 2 years ago.. ).
I think with a simple ECU swap and D16 comparable head ( but more HP minded ) You'd either blow the motor up or get fast as hell.. My friends had a JRSC and ZEX 55shot on a 230K mile HF motor !! He ran 2 bottles though it and the S/C for about 6 months, the motor never died b/c the head/intake just couldn't flow the air, and the seal were to worn to hold the cylinder presures.. Turn the boost down, swap the ECU, and the head, then kick some ass !! I'd think the car wouldn't wanna run or would even knock b/c I thought the vtec-e motor/ecu was designed to run super lean for gas milage, and super lean + boost isn't good.. But I guess your not have a problem with that.. 140Whp is pretty good, if you could see a side by side comparison of the vtec-e vs a A6,Z6,Y8,Y7 head, you'd ----... |

i had 400CC injectors before and they sucked ass
they were from a lancer turbo, the pluggs didnt fit and i had to change them. the fuel consumption was terrible and the afr far too rich. i could not go above 11 basicaly i had fuel coming out of my exhaust. yesterday i spoke with some guys on the homemadeturbo chatroom and it might be beacause of my turbo. its the K03 used in audi s4 however its 1.1BAR its not giving enought air flow and thats where my problem is I guess. I think i am going to save some cash to buy a seperate computer unite control, something like the motec or Unichip |

and without missing link it was a nightmare i could not get ride of the check engine light
and once it was one then the vtec would not engage at higher RPM = ---- |

youve got the same motor as me :) Could u post your internals.Im doing Y8 head swap at the moment cause the vtec-e is ----.Im going to be running The Y8 head ported, garret T3 ,Large Fmic,450cc,VAFC,D16Z6 ecu,Custom plenum ,85mm throttle,LS Rods ,arp bolts,HKS filter,255 pump. Im chasing 300hp hopefully ill get it.I dont no what comp im going to be running with the y8 head ?But yeah good on ya man for building something different.

ohh yeah 1 other thing that motor is in the states in the 5g civic vx.Just incase u didnt no.In australia its in the 5g civic vei.

the e-vtec shouldn't matter at WOT. i thought the shutting down of one intake valve was just cruising.

E-Vtec is basically the econo version of vtec as stated in the above posts. The main difference lies in the cam, ecu, and head. (not to mention the intake manifold flows like ----) Until 2900 rpms the engine runs on 8 valves (very lean setting indeed) thus using a signifigantly less gas, mix that with a long tranny and you can show a huge gain in gas milage. Big thumbs down for anyone on reading this on this site. The internals are weaker that those of the y8 and so is the bottom end. As long as you are not spooled up before the engine switches back to 16 valvles (at approx. 3000rpms) your not goin to harm it but it is by far not the most effecient engine for preformance. I started out working with a 96 hx which comes with the D16y5 Vtec E and ended up droping it for a obd1 d15 with boost. So stoked I stoped messing with that ------- vtec e ;D

instead of throwing down for a motec or standalone get a real motor .. hell even a d16a6 would be better than that thing.

ok.. u said the stock motor is 114hp. is that the factory rating? dont forget the factory uses crank hp while when you dyno a car it measures hp at the wheels.
114hp = 100whp 155whp = 180ish 65hp jump is good for such a little motor. |

D16z6s made around 100Whp, I doubt the vtec-e would be within 20hp...

you guys are streesing me.
now i feel my car is ---- and useless. I feel it, as soon as I blow the engine i'll go for a swap. If you are happy with the power it makes, don't change it.. Just b/c the guy down the street has 800hpdoesn't mean I'm going to run 30psi on my stealth TT to try and keep up... ( or in your case swap motors ).
