Dump Tube
 

I've seen dump tubes for DSm turbo. Has anyone ever used one before? Do they give you quicker spool? I have a t25 turbo off an eclipse, would this work good on mine or just be loud and annoying?

the thing with the dump tube is to keep the throttle responce smooth. it dumps the BO into the intake again so you dont get that head to steering wheel action. smooth down spool.

I meant on the o2 housing, to dump the wastegate out instead of into the downpipe.

If you want your car to sound like ass, go for it.. I dont think its really going to make that much of a differnce on your T-25 D-series turbo setup.

I agree you dont want to dump Exhaust into the open atmosphere. It will sound and smell like ASS!
Also is very dangerous. Just make sure your downpipe has a sufficiant radius to handle the flow.

I also dont see any benifit in dumping bov into the intake?

The bov is to releive overboost caused when you let go of a wide open pedal fast. To pump this right back into the intake would be stupid.. To pump it into the exhaust in order to reduce bov noise makes sence. ;D

if you route the bov into the turbo intake just before the turbo inlet, it keeps the turbo spooled up between shifts, and is quieter for more stealth. gonna have mine setup that way soon.

I see .. so your puting the extra pressure back in to the turbo inlet, not the manifold intake.. This makes more sence. like blowing into your air cleaner between shifts! Right?

I personnaly think dump tubes sound bad ass. one dude on another website said it sounds like a pissed off moose with asthma. Im running one with a small muffler that I bought from a kart shop.
