hey this may sound retarted, but i had this idea and wanted some feedback

what if you ran your ac compresor into your intercooler?
could that work any ideas or is the idea just bad

I dont know enough about ac to tell you if it'd work.

but I try to look at things logically,

look at it this way, if it could work, dont you think someone would have thought of that by now

 

ok the a/c compressor takes hp to turn. so the gained hp u would make by running the evaporator as a water/ac type intercooler would be lost.

so they basically cancel each other out.. or mabey not. who knows it could work..

 

it really doesn't take a hole lot to run a ac compressor, but cooling your charge a little bit in that way probably wouldn't add much either :/

i would have it dump over an eclipse smic in the engine bay, like the new lightnings. They claim 50 hp from that. But it is a 400hp v8.

 

With the new trucks they cool the water down while your cruizing and then when you hit full throttle the ac turns off. its just to help cool the water back down. its a good idea actually.

 

Good idea, might be tough to fabricate it though,

 

wouldnt work, the ac compressors disengage at full throttle on most cars... the other problem is that the amount of air a standard ac system flows is a drop in the bucket in a turbo car...

 

A freind of mine just gave me the idea of something like this just a few days ago. He races high power mustangs and I was telling him about my setup. He said that I should T off the pipe that blows the ac into the car and run a flap in the T so that you can turn the air either in the car or over the intake. Sounds like an awesome idea if you want to put the work into it. He said it does a damn good job too. It would be the ultimate CIA
