DSM twins?

hey a buddy of mine has a 1995 2.0 DOHC Eclipse GSX its the turbo AWD model.

He has aquired a set of twin turbos from an toyota supra. What would be the best setup to use for this? acutally my biggest question is ...will his engine handle this setup? he wants to take the old turbo out and put both the toyo's in it.
they come iwht the stock exhaust manifold..
thans,
rusty

It's been discussed a million times, and done once. There's no advantage unless you consider increased lag an advantage.

You have the exhaust flow of only 2 cylinders per turbo. T-25's or maybe 14b's are about all that would be managable.
And I dont know how you would use the supra manifold?

alright thanks man, the links broken but i see what ur saying with only 2 cylinders per turbo....well would 1 supra turbo be an upgrade from the stock? or better yet what car should we take a Turbo off of for it to be an upgrade on his eclipse?

Re:DSM twins?

the ct26 is a shitty turbo. it's laggy, pretty inefficient, and at high boost it becomes a heat gun. tell ur friend to rip off some supra owner who has blown their stock turbo's.

the only toyota turbo worth investing in is the ct12b. and u would have to find that one in japan. tell your friend to just get a run-of-the-mill t3. they are cheap, easily repaired, and very capable

T-25 to T3 wouldn't be the best upgrade. Alot of 2g guys like to go to the 14b from the 1g's. Its a cheap and great upgrade from the T-25, which after 15psi isn't any good. The 14b is about maxed out at 18psi. The T-25 will bring you mid 13's where-as the 14b can get you into the mid 12's. Of course this all depends on the most important item...the driver.

I think he has the twin turbo setup of the Supra..with the two CT12's...he doesn't have two CT26 turbo's(platanazo64)

14bs see a lot of use at 20-21 psi and have been known to run 11's

sorry for the confusion.. im an idiot... the ct12's are off the supra and are the shitty ones, and so are the ct26's. The good toyo turbo is the ct20b from the wrc celica's in japan.
