Default DSM turbos last a while?

For those of you with used DSM turbos.. T25s, 14bs, whatever.. how long have you been running the turbo and at how much boost?

Not that any of u care, but im asking this cuz I've been STUCK on getting a greddy kit but Im starting to realize it might not be financially possible, so I want to see if these mitsu turbos last a while. Might pick up a T28 from a friend.

if it makes you feel any better, my woman's GSX has ~80k on the stock t25 with little to NO shaft play on it, spools fast still and boosts great. i know it'll def. last over 100k miles in the shape it's in. 14b's will last a long time too, but because of a flaw in the design of the exhaust housing, sometimes the cast iron around the wastegate flapper cracks from the flapper slapping shut so much and it'll start to leak boost prematurely even though the turbo should still have life left. as with all turbo's, it just depends on how hard you are on it really...

oil and water cooled turbo should last a good many miles. i would still recommend idling just before shut down for like 30-60 seconds to help cool it, but if you are running both oil and water it should be good. i found an ihi rhb5 off an old probe gt that had a crap load of miles on it and it had very little play in it. the person might have replaced it at one time, but i was very suprised of the condition. just got to clean and ebay it now.
