Default DSM sidemount location.

Well I have a 91 civic that I am in the process of turboing. Well I have a DSM sidemount, but it won't fit where my airbox was. It does fit very cleanly inside the engine bay (see picture below). Would this have a bad effect on the cooling?

Wherever it fits, it fits.

You obvously want air going through the fins though, but what are you gonna do?

Is there room in the fender?

I had a sidemount with a Y8 and i was gonna put it where the stock airbox was but then I saw ppl using it just like a FMIC. I decided to just get a full FMIC though

Heres a pic of a SM as a FM: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo_...cooler_2_P.jpg

I will try that I guess. I just don't feel like talking my bumper off because my bumper and fenders are one piece so I have to take them all off.

Best place for it is in the fender. Gets cold air thru the bumper, as well as air from the spinning wheel. I made a little mesh screen to proctect it from rocks thrown by the tire. You have to trim a little sheet metal, but nothing too bad.

The main cutting I did was opening up the hole the air box resonator went thru, so I could mount the IC further back, closer to the tire. I also bent the stamped seam on the bottom of the framerail over with a hammer. I cut off part the lower IC inlet, so that it just comes out straight, not straight and then bends up.
