DSM 450's fit on a Corolla perfectly!
 

I got the injectors a little while ago, and I thought that I might need to modify something to get them to fit in my car....

Took the stock injectors out today, and to my surprise, the DSM injectors fit perfectly! Absolutely perfect! No boring out grommets, no messing with seals or anything, just take the stock ones out, and replace them with the DSM ones.

Although I had to mess with the connectors a little bit, and solder in some resisters, everything is great! I'm not sure if anyone's ever done this on a Toyota before, but now I have!

wow..... thats pretty interesting. Just plug and play huh... your lucky... i had to fork over 32$ for the injector seal kit.... well at least i have new seals..., but still thats pretty interesting... what year corolla is it?

Its a 1990, but Toyota uses the same family of engines from 1988 to like 1997...

I also bought an injector seal kit, but that was because it really needed new seals.

DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors.... generally, if someone's talking about a DSM, it's a talon ,eclipse, or plymouth laser, which are all basically the same car. The DSM injectors are the 450cc injectors that you can find on the turbo versions of these cars. Mostly honda guys use them, but I guess toyota guys can too!!!

what type of injectors come in Corolla's? Hold and peak or saturated? (stock)

Corollas come with high-impedance injectors that are about 13.5 ohms, so I used a 10 ohm resistor in line with each injector. I'm not sure what the stock ones are (peak/saturated)...

For a civic, are new seals a must? Or can I use the stock ones some how.

Take the stock ones, fit them over a Dremel tool's sandpaper drum, and grind the *outside* at a low speed against some sandpaper or smooth concrete until they give a snug interference fit.

I've seen people grind the insides out before... some have a feel for it, most just butcher the seals.
