DSM 450s Car wont run right.. FOUND CEL NOW WHAT???
Hi. I am using 450s and a Vafc on my civic dx 1994..I have a rhb5 turbo. It wont run right. As soon as I hit the gas it bogs right out. The injectors I got are dsm 450s blue tops. they where missing there little caps that go on the bottom where the gas sprays out. Can that make them not work right? Thanks

No, the injectors are fine without the caps. And what settings are you running? Need a little more info here.

I am using the vafc. With the setings that are in the help faq. starting with -40 going to -34 on all the throttle settings 06 and 06 for the sensor type 4 with the arrow upper right corner for car select. 98 and 99 for the th point. and thats it. The car idles fine but when you hit the gas it hesitates its way up and when you are driving it if you hit the gas it just dies but if you put your foot on it just aliitle it will bog for a second then take off...I dont know what is wrong I am getting good vacume and I have no leaks anywhere.

They are brand new i just put them in.

Ok i pulled the plugs. they are nice and clean like new still..I didnt do anything witht the timing at all. The car ran fine for like 5-10 minutes then just started doing this so I changed the plugs thinking it was that but it wasnt. I put in a resistor box and the car runs/idles good. I dont know what is wrong but it is driving me nuts. I am ready to take a bat to the car please help stop my insanity. The car ran great before I put the turbo in....

So you ran them with no resistor box at first? then installed one? You may have fucked the ecu up if so.

No the resister box was always hooked up. I put that in first.

do you have an a/f gauge? when it is bogging, are you running rich/lean.

What does that mean? The whole thing lights up? If you put your foot on the gas and hold it there, the light should steady somehwere.
Maybe you have a sensor problem? Getting any CELs? |

No they dont all light up but it goes from rich to optimal then when i let of it his lean for a second then goes back to rich. I am getting cels but I dont have the temp sensor or oil sensor hooked up so I figured that was why I got the cels..The wires are just hanging there with nothing hooked to them. I dont know how to check my cel codes and the car isnt on the road to take it to the garage.

Why don't you hook them up, clear the codes and try again?

This is a 1994 civic with a d15b7. I cant hook them back up because I am using aftermarket gauges.

Need to get a wide band o2 in there sounds like the fuel system is riching up mass an then leaning out so then ecu trying to compensate an the vafc is waking it out.Get an new ecu an get it tuned....From experience you need good fuel management an spark control :P

I got an idea cuase mine is doing that right now the set up goes as:::: d16z6, jdm dizzy, garret t2/t28 hybrid .42/.60 trims, volvo blow off valve 450cc injects, fmu , and boosting at 14, lbs(built z6 motor) that is why the boost is high , the only problem i have is the bucking at idle until about 3000 rpm or at hard acceleration it is ok the cold start up is what really kills me the only thing i had found so far is that one of the injectors is leaking down
my resistors are wired in right and the timing is right and IGN,,, is good only thing i think is the injectors are too big im still seeking and needing help like you .....?????? |

OK I checked the cel codes and the only one I am getting is number 3 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor So what does that mean and what do I do about it? Thanks

Go back and make absolutely sure you've got the AFC wired up correctly and everything is tight. I had the same problem at one time and traced it back to 2 reversed wires on the AFC harness. Whoops...
